City of Bristol Choir launches its 20th anniversary season with a performance of one of the most celebrated works in the repertoire, Mozart's Requiem, in collaboration with the professional orchestra, The Bristol Ensemble. The Requiem's dramatic and fiery choral writing, combined with moments of great tenderness, beauty and passion, make it a deeply moving piece to hear live in concert.

The concert opens with the first performance of Everyone Sang! by Brian Knowles, a tuneful and uplifting choral fanfare, setting the poem by Siegfried Sassoon: "Everyone suddenly burst out singing, and I was filled with such delight."

Also in the first half of this celebratory concert, the choir sings Bernstein's popular Chichester Psalms, bursting with energetic jazz-inspired rhythms and beautiful melodies.

To complete the programme, the orchestra will play Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis, repeatedly voted one of the nation's favourite pieces.

Come and enjoy a wonderful evening's entertainment from one of Bristol's leading choirs which has appeared on BBC radio and television.
